I remember seeing Denny Dent when I was just a wee lad on the show “Real People.” I was instantly hooked – It’s a shame he’s left us, because he was a positive force for good, and crafted some simple and VALUABLE lessons in what he did – Make sure you stay with it and “wait for it”. The reveal never fails to impress.

Yeah, so things change. It’s a given right? And over the long haul, resisting it usually results in failure. Well, Media, (and the whole world for that matter) is changing at a break neck pace, and the internet is responsible for it all.

Consider this, 3-4 years ago, what did the term “swipe” mean to you? Well since the advent of the iPhone/iPad (smartphone/tablet) it now probably means something completely different. Please take a minute to review the presentation that the good folks at the Business Insider put together on the “State of the Internet.”

It’s lots of charts & graphs, but if it doesn’t enlighten you, it really should.

A matter of Perspective.

Actually a single point of perspective for Stanley Kubrick.

Stanley Kubrick’s body of work speaks for itself, and although his work isn’t for everybody, there’s no denying the artistry. The man took meticulous to a whole new level, but there was always a method to his madness. Case in point, the video below is a great example of how framing and perspective can add to the mood and atmosphere. Take a looky and see for yourself, but be warned there’s some shots of the Shining in here that are a bit graphic.

Advertising just really doesn’t get any better than this. Sure it’s a Branding piece, but who can really argue with the messaging, not to mention the execution. Bravo for going WAY against type with this truly inspired casting, it really elevates this spot to whole other level.

We can’t wait for this . . .

If you remember what “Aladdin’s Castle” was, then you probably spent some part of your formidable years in the late 70’s & 80’s. Which means, after watching this you will fill up with nostalgia as you think back to dropping tokens (or actual quarters if you go way back) in the likes of Missile Command, Galaga, or Defender, while sipping your Orange Julius, sporting your new button fly 501’s you just got from Miller’s Outpost.

Client: Dallas Construction Services

Dallas Construction Services needed a new logo, or as we say in the industry, a new identity. They provide framing and construction services for many DFW builders, and like many of our clients, they wanted something unique & different to help them stand out.

We’re pretty fond of where we landed, the mark is a “D” rotated a 1/4 turn counter-clockwise and the space in the middle represents the head of a hammer hitting a nail. You see it now?? Sometimes it takes a second, but once you see it, that’s all you see. The client was thrilled or as they put it – “We hit the nail on the head.”
