Maybe you get him, maybe you don’t, but every time I see Andrew WK, he usually makes me laugh. I also happen to dig his music, it’s all about fun, which in this interview clip, he surely seems to be having. It’s from 2009, so I’m a little late, but you should check it out regardless.

They really never stop impressing me with their unique sensibilities. It’s simple, inventive, and as always cool – Peep it – and watch out for that goose!

Those of you in the know, already know, but for those who don’t one of our team members is in Beastie Boys Tribute Band called Rhymin N Stealin. Now it seems as though the Dallas Observer has “observed” them in the highly-esteemed “Best Cover/Tribute Band” category, along with Boys Named Sue, Hard Night’s Day
Le Cure, The King Bucks, and Petty Theft.

Ok so it’s not really that prestigious, after all they’re just doing other peoples songs, but it’s still kinda cool. If you’d like to vote please do so here.

One of my good friends, Bart Damer, Just relaunched his site, and it’s pretty sick. Bart is one of the best designers I know, and he’s a genius at Motion Graphics, but he’s also pretty ridiculous at the print stuff too. Having done some posters and t-shirt work for the likes of Wolfmother and Lil’ Wayne.

OK GO – is quite honestly, one of the most creative bands working today. Their self-made videos are fantastic, and are probably the main reason for their ever increasing fan base. What’s even more respectable is that the band left the confines of the major label not long ago and have just started doing it themselves.

Utilizing the “social” media in a way that few other bands have even come close to doing, OK GO is always ahead of the curve, pushing the envelope and embracing the change. In fact, lead singer Damian Kulash often contributes Editorial work to the New York Times, the latest of which can be read here.

If you know who Jason Fried is then you’ve been there done that. But if you don’t know who he is then you probably have no idea who David Heineimeier Hansson is. Well they’re behind 37 Signals, who’s behind Basecamp, the web-based project management tool that’s revolutionized more than the project management universe and Mr Hansson is the developer who essentially built it (and Ruby on Rails BTW).

These guys are WAY ahead of the curve, ALWAYS. Mr Hansson recently gave a lecture at Standford University’s Entrepreneurship Corner, entitled “Unlearn Your MBA” – and in it, there’s some serious pearls about starting/running your own small business. I’ve embedded it below, but for some reason it loads like a video, but it’s only “audio”, so don’t let the still video frame fool you.

The 37 Signals guys have also written a book that arrives in a view days, called “Rework” learn more about it here.

Their first book “Getting Real” was about building web applications and it was available primarily as a download. Like I said – ahead of the curve.

Wes Anderson is AWESOME, not all his movies hit it out of the park, but they’re all unique (especially for his American Express Card Commercial which is also below). His humor is VERY subtle and not for everyone but it’s on display here in his acceptance speech for an award he received for The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Peep it.
